Preserving the Land marks...the indestructible history of the martyrs... know where you came from!

Let's Continue to pass the Torch!
Pass the church heritage to the next generation...the preserved doctrines and practices from the Bible...

After Jesus Christ called John as the Baptist (Matt.11:11), as a religious title of the only person sent by God to prepare the way of the Lord and to baptized (John 1:6; Matt.11:10; Mal.3:1) , Jesus, the Christ, the great God (Heb. 1:1,8), the Savior, the only Founder from Galilee to Jordan seek the baptism of John as the only authorized by God to baptize that time (Matt.3:13-17), certified by God the Father and God the Holy Spirit after He was baptized commended by a voice and the dove. Jesus Christ personally in His ministry, called out (ekklesia, the meaning of the church) certain persons baptized by the baptist (Acts 1:21,22) to be trained as disciples and be ordained as apostles (Luke 6:13-16) to make a network of churches to fulfill His great commission worldwide.

He promised His church which He personally founded with blessings that in spite of persecutions, and much sufferings that even the gates of hell can't destroy her.

Mat 16:18  "...I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
Mat 28:19-20  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

1Co 11:26  For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

(excerpt fro BAPTIST SUCCESSION R.Y. Blalock)

Now I want to give you three earthly witnesses, who were not Baptists, who will testify to the succession of Baptists from the days of the apostles.

     (1)   On Baptist Succession, Dr. Peck says, "Baptists in every age, from the apostles, remain true to the Kingdom which Christ came to establish."   (Religious, Denominations, Page 197)   (Quoted from Ray's History, page 447.)

     (2)   Alexander Campbell said, "The Baptist denomination in all ages, and in all countries has been, as a body, the constant asserter of the rights of man, and the liberty of conscience."   (Campbell on Baptism page 409)

     (3)   Drs. Ypeij and Dermont, Historians, speaking of Baptists said, "We have now seen that the Baptists, who were formerly called Anabaptists, and in later times Mennonites, were the original Waldenses, and who had long in the history of the church, received the honor of that origin.   On this account, the Baptists may be considered as the only Christian community, which has stood since the days of the apostles, and as a Christian society, which has preserved pure, the doctrines of the Gospel, through all ages."   (Christian's History, Page 95)

I could give many other witnesses who have testified to the succession of Baptists, but this is the Scriptural number to prove our case.   They are professed Christian Historians, and not members of the Baptist church.

(Excerpts from the Bridwell vs. Causey Debate pages 9-10.)

This church started by Jesus is a Baptist church and will take the Lord's supper to show His death till He comes. She will be here standing like a rock.

Then Hebrews 12:28, We having received a kingdom which cannot be moved. Now the all the devils in hell could not move her; she is to stand like a rock. Let us then trace her.

If We Are Not Under the OLD TESTAMENT LAW... What's the USE of the Old Testament TODAY?

We have learned that the Law was done away and the prophets were done away as a rule of faith and practice. What use then have we for the Old Testament?

http://bloggingforchrist-brillantvictory.blogspot.com/2013/04/this-age-not-under-law-and-prophets.html

http://bloggingforchrist-brillantvictory.blogspot.com/2013/04/the-old-testament-not-our-rule-of-faith.html

The Old Testament is very valuable for three things. It contains:

  1. History
  2. Prophecy
  3. Types
A careful study of the Old Testament is necessary to a correct understanding of the New Testament. In the New Testament are numerous references to Old Testament events and familiarity with the history of those events is necessary to an understanding of what the New Testament teaches.

HISTORY
Inspired

The history contained in the Old Testament is not different from history written by any historian, except that Old Testament history is inspired. Historians make mistakes and sometimes what they relate is untrue, but in the Old Testament, every word is inspired.

The history of creation is given in the Old Testament. It is the only Book where we can learn the exact facts concerning the origin of things. Genesis is hated by atheist and skeptics, in fact the infidel world, because it gives God as the Creator of all things. If Genesis is true, then the doctrine of evolution is untrue. They cannot both be true.

Confirmed by Archaeologists

The Old Testament has been confirmed by archaeologists. The spade has uncovered ancient ruins which show that the Biblical account is true, and at no time has it been shown that the Bible account is false or even in the slightest detail in error. To know history accurately, one must know the Old Testament.

Tells Good and Bad

The history in the Old Testament tells the bad as well as the good in men and women. Why tell the bad? If only the good in the Bible characters were related, we might form the idea that they were more than human, and it would be discouraging to us, but when the bad conduct of such men as David and Solomon and Samson and even Abraham is recounted, we can see that they were human and in need of a Savior the same as we. We can learn how that man and women are saved notwithstanding their imperfections - the glorious doctrine of salvation by grace is exemplified.

Warning for Us

What these Old Testament characters did is not intended as an example for us. Sometimes what they did is a terrible warning to us. The bad things are not recorded for us to copy, but we learn how God dealt with His people. For instance, we can read with profit how God dealt with His people. For instance, we can read with profit how Noah built the Ark under the instructions of God, but we are not to practice building tabernacles. We can read with profit how Abraham offered his son, Isaac, in sacrifice. What they did is not intended as our rule of faith and practice from the Old Testament.

Misuse of Historical Events

Some of the historical events in the Old Testament were types of things in the New Testament, but where such is the case we are plainly told in some place that they are types. For instance, the crossing of the Red Sea is a type of baptism and the elevating of the serpent of brass is a type of the crucifixion of Christ, but we are somewhere told that these are intended as types. To give spiritual meaning to the historical events related in the Old Testament  is a dangerous practice, unless we are distinctly told somewhere in the Bible that the event has a spiritual significance.

PROPHECY

By prophecy we mean history written in advance. God knew all His works before He did them. He knew what He was going to do and when He was going to do it, and He inspired the prophets to foretell it. Prophecy is not a guess but an actual account of events before they come to pass. It is one of the best proofs of the inspiration of the Bible.

We are not under the prophets as a rule of faith and practice but what they prophesied will certainly come to pass. We do not go to the prophets to learn what to do in our religious life, but we go to the prophecies to learn what God intends to do with us and with all the rest of mankind. God's purposes are revealed by the prophets. A study of prophecy is not only fascinating but very profitable.

What God will do is revealed in prophecy and what we should do is revealed in the New Testament.

TYPES

A type is a picture, a shadow. The Old Testament abounds in types and a study of them makes the work of Jesus as our Savor clear and also what the church is and does is made clear. A type is a shadow - a shadow of things to come.

We should use the types mentioned in the Bible and not be guilty of manufacturing types. In past years a great book was written, known as Butler's Analogy and it was widely read. It had such influence on the preachers of a past generation that every similarity was taken as a type of something. It developed a generation of preachers who spiritualized everything. Many preachers indulge in that sort of thing to this day.

The Bible should be allowed to mean just exactly what it says. If we do not know the meaning of the words used in a passage, we should go to a dictionary and learn the meaning just exactly as we do when reading any other book, or as we do when reading a newspaper. The Bible means what it says. Many times I have been asked what a passage means and my answer is: It means exactly what it says.

A man asked me one time what it means where Moses cast down a rod and it became a serpent and God told him to "take it by the tail." My answer was, "It means what it says."

The questioner persisted, and said, "What does it mean by taking it by the tail?
My answer was: "It means not to take it by the head or the middle, but by the tail."

"But," said the questioner, "does it not have some spiritual meaning?" It certainly does not have any spiritual significance. It is not a type of anything for the reason the Bible nowhere says it should be so used. The Holy Spirit made all the types He wanted, and certainly we should not be guilty of making any more. Such as that is mending the Word of God and is equivalent to adding to the Bible.

When we read of the Passover and then read where Jesus is our Passover, we know that the Passover is a type because the Bible says so.

When we read of Moses lifting up the serpent in the wilderness, we know that this was a type of Christ because Jesus said it was:

"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up" (John 3:14).

Everything and every event in te Bible that was intended to be a type is mentioned somewhere by some inspired writer as being a type. We should not be guilty of inventing types, because the Spirit has given us all we need.

SEX DRIVE セックスドライブ 的性冲动 섹스 드라이브 полового влечения sexlyst El deseo sexual الدافع الجنسي seksuele dryfkrag सेक्स ड्राइव

God planned in us three basic drives, to work in harmony and grow together in balance. They built the youth of the Lord Jesus. "Jesus increased in wisdom (the PERSONALITY drive) and stature (the PHYSICAL drive) and in favour with God (the SPIRITUAL drive) and the man (the SOCIAL drive - a natural result of controlling the other three) (Luke 2:52).
Luk 2:52  And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

The most powerful emotion-influencing part of the physical drive is that of SEX. Without this inbuilt direction to be "fruitful and multiply" we would last only one more generation (Genesis 1:28). This is the Father's most sacred gift to man - the power to re-create life.
Gen 1:28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

GOD CREATED and ORDAINED sex. It is NOT "evil" or unholy. The Bible does not hesitate to extoll the joys of a God given, God-directed sexual love in marriage. Sex is God's idea; He made it up. It is a symbol from the innermost being of the Father's heart of some of the most sacred relationships of Scripture. Christian marriage represents on earth the holy love the Heavenly Bridegroom, Jesus Christ the Lord has for His Body, the Church (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). A Christian family is the earthly pattern of God's longing for spiritual sons and daughters to rule and reign with Him. In its God-designed place, sexual love is the most beautiful relationship on earth. It is His special gift to signify His ultimate purpose for man; to be in the Father's house and family, living in love and fellowship trough eternity (1 John 3:1-2).
1Co 6:18  Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
1Co 6:19  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1Co 6:20  For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
1Jn 3:1  Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1Jn 3:2  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Because God made sex in human beings such a special relationship, He set definite differences between animal and human sex drives. Animal reproduction is sparked by automatic instinct laws that operate at certain times of the year. There is no love in these sexual couplings, just blind instinctual desire. Human desire for sexual love and children is quite different. It has been placed by the Creator at the direction of the human will and thought. It is Not automatic.God designed it to both awaken and function under the control of the personality. In early years the force sleeps, hidden from our attention, but as we begin to mature it makes its presence felt in our lives.

Sex was given for two major physical reasons: re-creation of the race by reproduction (Genesis 1:27-28; Psalm 127:3-5) and as a source of deep spiritual and physical pleasure between husband and wife (Matthew 19:4-6; Genesis 2:24-25; 24:67; Ecclesiastes 9:9; 1 Corinthians 7:2-5). The same Bible that gives stern warnings about the misuse of sex (Proverbs 5:1-8, 20) clearly describes how sexual needs should be met, to bring us great happiness (Proverbs 5:15, 18-19). The Bible teaches PURITY, not Puritanism! A husband is to be "intoxicated" with his wife's love; this is not only described by the Holy Spirit as a part of wisdom (Proverbs 5:1). but God is seen to know and approve of this sexual union (Proverbs 5:21) God made sex to be tenderly beautiful.

Gen 1:27  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Gen 1:28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Psa 127:3  Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Psa 127:4  As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
Psa 127:5  Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Mat 19:4  And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
Mat 19:5  And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
Mat 19:6  Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Gen 2:24  Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Gen 2:25  And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
Gen 24:67  And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.
Ecc 9:9  Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
1Co 7:2  Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
1Co 7:3  Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
1Co 7:4  The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
1Co 7:5  Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
Pro 5:1  My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding:
Pro 5:2  That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
Pro 5:3  For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:
Pro 5:4  But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword.
Pro 5:5  Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.
Pro 5:6  Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.
Pro 5:7  Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
Pro 5:8  Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
Pro 5:9  Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:
Pro 5:10  Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;
Pro 5:11  And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
Pro 5:12  And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
Pro 5:13  And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
Pro 5:14  I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
Pro 5:15  Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
Pro 5:16  Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.
Pro 5:17  Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.
Pro 5:18  Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
Pro 5:19  Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.
Pro 5:20  And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
Pro 5:21  For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.

Teen pregnancies in the Philippines
By Rebecca B. Singson
Philippine Daily Inquirer
First Posted 00:55:00 06/14/2008

Filed Under: Health, Lifestyle & Leisure, Gender Issues(First in a series)MANILA, Philippines? The sexual revolution has ushered in a period in which the average adolescent experiences tremendous pressures to have sexual experiences of all kinds. Filipino teens get a higher exposure to sex from the Internet, magazines, TV shows, movies and other media than decades ago, yet without any corresponding increase in information on how to handle the input. So kids are pretty much left to other kids for opinions and value formation when it comes to sex.
Sexual misinformation is therefore equally shared in the group. Parents at home and teachers in school feel equally inadequate or uneasy to discuss the topic of sex with youngsters. The problem mounts because the barkada (gang) has a more profound influence than parents do and they exert pressure and expect the adolescent to conform to the rest of them.
In fact, female adolescents whose friends engage in sexual behavior were found to be more likely to do the same compared to those who do not associate with such peers. If the teen perceives her peers to look negatively at premarital sex, she was more likely to start sex at a later age.
NumbersStatistics in the United States show that each year, almost 1 million teenage women?10 percent of all women aged 15-19 and 19 percent of those who have had sexual intercourse?become pregnant and one-fourth of teenage mothers have a second child within two years of their first.
In the Philippines, according to the 2002 Young Adult Fertility and Sexuality Study by the University of the Philippines Population Institute (Uppi) and the Demographic Research and Development Foundation, 26 percent of our Filipino youth nationwide from ages 15 to 25 admitted to having a premarital sex experience. What?s worse is that 38 percent of our youth are already in a live-in arrangement.
The 1998 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) reveals that 3.6 million of our teenagers (that?s a whopping 5.2 percent of our population!) got pregnant. In 92 percent of these teens, the pregnancy was unplanned, and the majority, 78 percent, did not even use contraceptives the first time they had sex. Many of the youth are clueless that even on a single intercourse, they could wind up pregnant.
RisksThere are many reasons teen pregnancies should be avoided. Here?s a low down on the facts:
? Risk for malnutrition
Teenage mothers tend to have poor eating habits and are less likely to take recommended daily multivitamins to maintain adequate nutrition during pregnancy. They are also more likely to smoke, drink or take drugs during pregnancy, which can cause health problems for the baby.
? Risk for inadequate prenatal care
Teenage mothers are less likely to seek regular prenatal care which is essential for monitoring the growth of the fetus; keeping the mother?s weight in check; and advising the mother on nutrition and how she should take care of herself to ensure a healthy pregnancy. According to the American Medical Association, babies born to women who do not have regular prenatal care are 4 times more likely to die before the age of 1 year.
? Risk for abortion
Unplanned pregnancies lead to a higher rate of abortions. In the United States, nearly 4 in 10 teen pregnancies (excluding those ending in miscarriages) are terminated by abortion. There were about 274,000 abortions among teens in 1996.
In the Philippines, although abortion is illegal, it would shock you to know that we even have a higher abortion rate (25/1,000 women) compared to the United States where abortion is legal (23/1,000 women). For sure, there are more abortions that happen in our country that are not even reported. Backdoor abortions are resorted to with untrained ?hilots? with questionable sterility procedures, increasing the possibility for tetanus poisoning and other complications.
? Risk for fetal deaths
Statistics of the Department of Health show that fetal deaths are more likely to happen to young mothers, and that babies born by them are likely to have low birth weight.
? Risk for acquiring cervical cancer
The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a sexually-transmitted, wart-forming virus that has been implicated in causing cancer of the cervix. This is the most common cancer in women secondary to breast cancer. Women who are at increased risk for acquiring this are those who engage in sex before 18, have a pregnancy at or younger than 18, or have had at least 5 sexual partners, or have had a partner with at least 5 sexual partners.
If you start sex at an early age, you have a higher likelihood of going through several sexual partners before you settle down, thus increasing your exposure to acquiring the virus and acquiring cervical cancer. The men can get genital warts from this virus and can certainly pass it on to their partners, thus increasing her risk for cervical cancer. Is that something you would want to gift to your wife with on your honeymoon? There is a way to test women (HPV Digene test) but no test for the man so you can?t know if you have it. Using the condom does not confer protection against acquiring this virus since the condom cannot cover the testes where the warts can grow and proliferate.
