e-sword DOWN LOAD
e-Sword is a fast and effective way to study the Bible. e-Sword is feature rich and user friendly with more capabilities than you would expect in a free software package. The fact that e-Sword is free is just one of the blessings and does not speak of the quality of the software. I make my living writing software and I believe I have put forth my best effort in this endeavor. The real work, however, was put in by the godly men and women who devoted countless years creating the texts that have been made available for our benefit.

BAPTIST WAY BOOK By:  Ben M. Bogard

Dr. Ben M. Bogard

Dr. Benjamin Marcus Bogard 1868-1951 was one of the most famous Baptist preachers of the late 1800's and till 1951. He helped found the American Baptist Assn. and the Bible school at Little Rock, Arkansas. He held many famous debates with different denominations on various Bible doctrines. Dr. Phillips found this very rare recording originally done on silver wire or LP recording. This was part of an original broadcast radio program that Dr. Bogard spoke on for many years. We repaired and patched this recording together for your listening pleasure. This was originally recorded about 65 years ago. This is a real voice from the past. We have found four messages that Dr. Bogard preached. We send these forth for your edification.

In addition to Pillars of Orthodoxy, or Defenders of the Faith, Bogard wrote the following books:
  • Fifty-two Bible Lesson (1930)
  • Smith-Bogard Debate: A Discussion between Eugene S. Smith and Ben M. Bogard (1942)
  • The Baptist Way-Book (1946) ISBN 9780892110155
  • The Golden Key (1968 reprint)
  • Best of Bogard Sermons (1974 reprint)
  • W. Curtis Porter and Ben M. Bogard Debate (2013 reprint) ISBN=9781584270430
  • The Bible Proved by Science: Refutation of Modernism, Infidelic Skepticism Made Ridiculous (undated)
  • The Story of a Sermon with Dan Gilbert (undated)[28]
Bogard was honored by Ripley's Believe It or Not! for having preached for "sixty-one years without missing a single Sunday."[3] His period as an ordained minister extended from 1887 to 1951, or sixty-four years; presumably his sixty-one years without missing a Sunday were from 1890 to 1951 or maybe 1889 to 1950.

Why Pray? In his book, The Weapon of Prayer, Edward Bounds states: "The life of the individual believer, his personal salvation, and personal Christian graces have their being, bloom, and fruitage in prayer." As a chaplain in the Confederate States Army during the Civil War, Bounds initiated weekly prayer sessions to strengthen the spiritual state of his local area. His wisdom has impacted Christ-seekers for decades, and his words are as powerful now as they were in the 1800's. Bounds reminds us that throughout Biblical history, many of God's greatest movements were incited by the prayers of God's people. According to Bounds, prayer must be a priority. Other Christian duties, such as sacred works, communion, and church activities, cannot and should not take the place of prayer. To eliminate prayer from our daily lives is to abandon communication with God. It is through prayer that we have the opportunity to share our deepest sorrows, joys, and desires with the only one who can truly comfort us. To remind readers that God's presence steadfastly endures, Bounds concludes his piece by providing modern examples of the power of prayer.
