Mosheim said "concerning the primitive Christian " ..."Before the rise of Luther and Calvin, there lay secreted in almost all the countries of Europe persons who adhered tenaciously to the principles of modern 😇Dutch Baptists." Mosheim, the great Lutheran historian says the 😇original Christians were Baptists.

The Presbyterian historian says "It must have already occurred to our readers that the Baptists are the same sect of Christians that were formerly described as Ana-Baptists. Indeed this seems to have been their leading principle from the time of Tertullian to the present time." (Edinburg Cyclopedia) Tertulian was born just 50 years after the death of John the Apostle.

HIS BIOGRAPHY:

Johann Lorenz Von Mosheim (c. 1694-1755). German Lutheran divine and Church historian, was born at Lubeck on the 9th of October. 1694 or 1695. After studying at the gymnasium of his native place. he entered the university of Kiel (1716), where he took his master's degree in 1718. In 1719 he became assessor in the philosophical faculty at Kiel .. His first appearance in the field of literature was in a polemical tract against John Toland,Vindiciae antiquae christienorum. disci­plinae (1720), which was soon followed by a volume of Observationes sacrae (1721). These works, along with the reputation he had acquired as a lecturer and preacher, secured for him a call to Helmstädt as professor ordinarius in 1723. The Institutionum historiae ecclesiasticae libri IV. appeared in 1726. and in the same year he was appointed by the duke of Bruns-wick abbot of Marienthal. to which dignity and emolument the abbacy of Michaelstein was added in the following year. Mosheim was much consulted by the authorities when the new university of Gottingen was being formed; especially in the framing of the statutes of the theological faculty. and the provisions for making the theologians independent of the ecclesiastical courts. In 1747 he was made chancellor of the university. He died at Gottingen on the 9th of September.

ATHEISM VERSUS GOD

 

Question [Trek]: Do you have proof there is or ever was scientifically a god.  I am an atheist so Im just curious.

Then you can decide if you believe the odds of a bunch of parts coming together in a functional assembly are more probable, statistically speaking, if assembled by a greater intelligence (a watch maker) or if you still believe in random chance - in which case you will just put them in a ziplock bag and shake them in hopes of a watch coming together.

We both know that you will chose the greater intelligence. Hence, the odds of random chance are just too great to be believed. So if the greater intelligence who assembled the parts of our universe is not God who is he?

Thus it is your belief in Random Chance, not my belief in a greater intelligence i.e. God, that is scientifically implausible.

COVID19 MESSAGE FROM PRES. KAGUTA MUSEVENI TO THOSE WHO MISBEHAVE IN THESE CRISIS. STAY HOME QUARANTINE YOURSELF AND FAMILY.

This speech is being attributed to the Ugandan President  KAGUTA MUSEVENI who warns against people misbehaving during this COVID-19 period:

"God has a lot of work, He has the whole world to look after. He cannot just be here in Uganda looking after idiots...".

In a war situation, nobody asks anyone to stay indoors. You stay indoors by choice. In fact, if you have a basement, you hide there for as long as hostilities persist.

During a war, you don't insist on your freedom. You willingly give it up in exchange for survival. During a war, you don't complain of hunger. You bear hunger and pray that you live to eat again

During a war, you don't argue about opening your business. You close your shop (if you have the time), and run for your life. You pray to outlive the war so that you can return to your business (that's if it has not been looted or destroyed by mortar fire.

During a war, you are thankful to God for seeing another day in the land of the living.

During a war, you don't worry about your children not going to school. You pray that the government does not forcefully enlist them as soldiers to be trained in the school premises now turned military depot.

The world is currently in a state of war. A war without guns and bullets. A war without human soldiers. A war without borders. A war without cease-fire agreements. A war without a war room. A war without sacred zones.

The army in this war is without mercy. It is without any milk of human kindness. It is indiscriminate - it has no respect for children, women, or places of worship.

This army is not interested in spoils of war. It has no intention of regime change. It is not concerned about the rich mineral resources underneath the earth. It is not even interested in religious, ethnic or ideological hegemony.

Its ambition has nothing to do with racial superiority. It is an invisible, fleetfooted, and ruthlessly effective army.

Its only agenda is a harvest of death. It is only satiated after turning the world into one big death field. Its capacity to achieve its aim is not in doubt.

Without ground, amphibious and aeriel machines, it has bases in almost every country of the world. Its movement is not governed by any war convention or protocol.

In short, it is a law unto itself. It is Coronavirus. Also known as COVID-19 (because it announced its destructive presence and intention in the year of our Lord 2019)

Thankfully, this army has a weakness and it can be defeated. It only requires our collective action, discipline and forbearance.

COVID-19 cannot survive social and physical distancing. It only thrives when you confront it. It loves to be confronted.

It capitulates in the face of collective social and physical distancing. It bows before good personal hygiene. It is helpless when you take your destiny in your own hands by keeping them sanitized as often as possible.

This is not a time to cry about bread and butter like spoilt children. After all, the  Holy book tells us that man shall not live by bread alone.

Let's obey and follow the instructions of the authorities. Let's flatten the COVID-19 curve. Let's exercise patience. Let's be our brothers' keeper.

In no time, we shall regain our freedom, enterprise and socializing."

IS DOCTRINE IMPORTANT?

Mat 15:9: "BUT IN VAIN THEY DO WORSHIP ME, TEACHING FOR DOCTRINES THE COMMANDMENTS OF MEN."

THE IMPORTANCE OF REPENTANCE

What place should repentance have in your presentation of the gospel? Is repentance the same thing as belief? Or is it something distinct from it? Is it important to emphasize repentance, or should we never mention it in this age of grace? What does repentance really mean, anyway? These are some of the questions the soulwinner must face (and answer) regarding the subject of repentance.
There can be little doubt that all men, from Adam on, have had to repent in order to have a right relationship with God. The importance of this is brought home when we realize men of every Biblical age preached it.

John the Baptist preached it (Mark 1:15); the Apostle John proclaimed its necessity (Rev. 2:5); Paul preached repentance wherever he went (Acts 17:30; 20:21 ); and the Lord Jesus Christ Himself strongly emphasized that men who refused to repent would perish (Luke 13:3, 5). So, you see, repentance is necessary for salvation

HOW TO INSULT JESUS? BY TEACHING AGAINST HIS WORDS. SAYING NO NEED OF REPENTANCE.

Mar 1:14-15: "Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel."

Luk 13:3,5: "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. … I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."
